ABOUT
I’ve decided the best use of this site and my time is to support my work as a teacher.
Toward that end, I will present images of work I have done since I began working solely with hand tools-there will likely be little or no how-to content. Creating how-to content disrupts the satisfying flow of work and ideas, and requires too much time using the computer- I know this because I tried it for a while. I have culled a few slideshows that I will share.
My intention is to share my work and thoughts-more work than thoughts at the outset-to provide content I would have appreciated as I started my making journey. My hope is that prospective, current, and former students will find something here to support and inform them. I enjoy sharing, but need to do it in small doses. If I spend too much time out of the shop and at the keyboard, I won’t have much to share.
Please check back from time to time to see how things are going. I will do my best to make it worth your time.
I do best answering questions, so don’t hesitate to ask them.
If you would like an email when I add content, just click the button below and fill out the opt-in form.
First slide show: Making Carrie's Cabinet
I'll likely comment on this later- in the meantime, if you have any questions, let me know.
Click the cabinet to play the slide show.
The letters HTWW (hand tool woodworking) at the end of an object/image description, indicate a discussion page. Sometimes the discussion will be very brief, other times I will go into some detail. Clicking on the HTWW will bring you to the discussion.
